KwaDukuza welcomes back the Mr Price Pro Ballito
As the largest beach festival in Africa the surfing and lifestyle event boasts a jam-packed week of sporting and lifestyle activations that guarantees fun for the whole family. The festival runs in conjunction with Africa’s premier surfing event and that attracts the world’s top surfers to the spectacular waves of Willards Beach in Ballito.

There’s no shortage of activities for holidaymakers as the bumper event offers a countless number of recreational and entertainment experiences. With entertainment including daily fashion shows, dance displays, children’s activities, food courts and an impressive retail area, you’re not going to want to miss out on the most exciting event of the year.
Adrenaline junkies beware, the Mr Price Pro Ballito has the perfect outlet for all your thrills with the BMX, skateboard and free running demonstrations. This will be your chance to witness the very best of SA’s extreme sports scene. Exercise enthusiasts will be elated to know that the Aramex Holla Trails Colour Festival (July 5) joins the Mr Price Pro Ballito for the first time this year. As the very first Colour Trail Festival in KwaDukuza the festival will host trail running and cycling. Don't miss the Nestle Choc Fest Guest the Mystery Artist on Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th, top SA Artists to be revealed.
The Mr Price Pro Ballito promises festivalgoers non-stop entertainment throughout the week. There are plenty of fun kid’s activities planned too including face painting, sandcastle building, beach soccer and volleyball to the RedCap Foundation kiddies corner.
Festivalgoers can expect a smorgasbord of treats from the extremely popular Coastal Living Bru Food and Wine Exhibition (July 1-3) hosted at the La Montagne Resort in Ballito. There are plenty of foodie experiences to bite your teeth into, from the Junior Chef Compo, to the Ballito Cake Boss Competition to some great live entertainment and a dazzling fashion show. There’s also the “Fleur de Cap so you think you can cook Ballito style?” an exciting competition that merges professional and amateur cooking talent to produce some tasty results!
The Artisan Food and Brew Market is another favourite of the Coastal Living Bru Food and Wine Exhibition and is an opportunity to sample the best of the North Coast’s flavour-filled cuisine. Delight your senses by tasting a variety of delicious foods, world-class wine, steaming coffee and cognac and whiskey. There will also be a prestigious wine auction with proceeds going to the event’s the official Corporate Social Investment programme, the RedCap Foundation.
For many the highlight of the Mr Price Pro Ballito are the Free Music Concerts (July 3-5), a three night music extravaganza that boasts a stellar line up of South Africa’s biggest and best musical talent. The first night of the Live Beach fest (July 3) caters to a more kwaito, Afro pop, hip hop and house sound with award winning duo Mafikizolo making an appearance. With the likes of Matthew Mole, Gangs Of Ballet and Locinville music fans loving any pop, rock or dance tunes should definitely head over on the Friday night (July 4). And if DJ’s are your more your taste then be sure to be at the Live Beach Fest on Saturday night (July 5) as some of 5FM’s most popular DJs will be taking over the stage. Watch out for star-studded line up of 5FM DJ’s including Poppy, DJ Fresh and Roger Goode.
While the Mr Price Pro touches down in Ballito just once a year thousands of lives are impacted daily through a valuable partnership between the RedCap Foundation and the KwaDukuza Municipality. Since 2009 the RedCap Foundation has been the official Corporate Social Investment programme for the Mr Price Pro Ballito and has added long-lasting value to the KwaDukuza community. With a mission to engage, enable and inspire South Africa’s youth the RedCap Foundation carries out invaluable work in the unemployment, education and health sectors in the low-income communities throughout KwaDukuza in KwaZulu-Natal.
